Red Ribbon Week Patch RED RIBBON WEEK OCTOBER  23-31, 2012 Boy Scouts & Girls Scouts can Earn a FREE Patch from the DEA! Dear Boy Scouts & Girl Scouts Leaders, The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) created a Red Ribbon Week patch to encourage and support sScouts who wish to learn about Red Ribbon and participate in local efforts to educate youth about the dangers of drug abuse.  Red Ribbon Week was established in memory of the sacrifices made to help keep our communities drug-free and encourage youth to lead healthy lives, free of drugs. Observed annually from October 23-31, Red Ribbon Week is a national celebration to promote youth education on the dangers of substance abuse. The DEA encourages all Boy Scout and Girl Scout groups to participate.  Patches will be given to thefirst 25,000 qualifyingBoy Scout and Girl Scouts. Volunteer Request September 30th, 2012

Sunday September 30th, 2012 St. Matthew’s Catholic Church Family Festival.
We are in need 2-4 scouts (Older Cubs, Boys Scouts, Ventures) and 1-2 adults to help in 2 hours shifts starting at 8am to help run Raingutter Regatta, mock camp site and share information on scouting. If you are bilingual in Spanish we could really use your help but not required to help with this event.
Shifts are 8am-10am_________________________ 10am-Noon______________________ Noon to 2pm______________________ 2pm-4pm________________________ 4pm-6pm____________________________
Please e-mail if you are able to attend. Youth and adults will receive service hours credits that will go towards the Journey to Excellence goal of a 3 hour average for every youth.

Each Unit Needs to get The Popcorn Take Order Campaign started off with a "KICK OFF Meeting" with your Pack/Troop. Talk about the incentives and challenge each scout to "Do Their Best" to help their Unit. Each Scout can do something.Contact me if you need ideas.
